Smack dab in the middle of Beverly Hills, MADAMENOIRE’S social media manager, Tiffany Smith, got to glitz and glam with the best of them for the absolute best of causes. On March 21, Smith attended the 2024 Los Angeles Builders Ball® Presented by City National Bank. This event was organized by Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) to raise awareness and funds for building homes and empowering families in our communities.
During the event, Smith was able to interview the mother of Beyoncé and Solange, the legendary Ms. Tina Knowles herself.
Ms. Tina Knowles told Smith, “I’ve seen the positive effect of Habitat For Humanity. I’ve built houses. I’ve contributed funds. It means hope to people that they have a place to lay their head. There’s nothing better than seeing those families’ faces when they move into their own home.” She continued, “With kids, you have to support whatever their dreams are. Make sure they have dreams and talk with them about it often. Reinforce it and try to help them in whatever they are interested in.”
In her role as Social Media Ambassador, the renowned Cynthia Bailey will leverage her powerful voice and extensive social networks to amplify Habitat LA’s work in raising awareness and funds to empower families and build strength and stability in communities through homeownership.
“I’m honored to use my platform and celebrity for such an amazing cause,” said Cynthia. “Personally, home is one of the most important things in your life because home is truly where the heart is.” When asked about her views on community healing, Cynthia added, “It’s all about helping each other.” Don’t count yourself out.” Her views on Black women succeeding in the industry, Cynthia added, “Black women can be very hard on themselves, and I would just say self love is the most important love. We pour so much into everyone else, don’t forget to pour into yourself.”
The EssenceFest Disney House at The Chicory on July 6th in New Orleans was a magical experience of a lifetime and MADAMENOIRE’S social media manager, Tiffany Smith, was there to witness it live and in person.
Nextdoor’s Product Marketing and Multicultural Engagement Lead, Reesha Howard, served as a guide to all of the out of this world enchantments. Reesha is a global citizen who has been able to impact many lives locally. Leveraging her experience in tech companies like eBay and Twitter, and as an entrepreneur, she joined Nextdoor to do the unthinkable: meld Black and Brown community interactions with advanced technology through rich, brutally honest dialogues.
“We partnered with Disney during the Essence Festival. We have a space called the Book Nook for folks to sit and recharge and they can take a book away from a local New Orleans author.” Along with a space for Black-owned chefs from New Orleans, Reesha said, “it’s giving the vibe of food and culture from the eyes of a local.”
The 30th anniversary of the Essence Festival of Culture was not only an homage to its illustrious past, but an illuminating reminder of the unbridled potential of the future. Actress Dara Reneé (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Freaky Friday) stated, “My mom is the main one who got me into this. She is my hero.” Promoting her latest role as the villain in “Descendants: The Rise of Red” which premiered Friday, July 12 exclusively on Disney+, she added, “I play Ursula’s baby sister and I’m the reason for a lot of chaos in the movie.”

Reneé continued, “And my family — I mean, I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of entertainers. My grandmother was in a girl group, my mom was an actress. Everybody has their own little flair in my family. I was very lucky to have a support system like them.”

Wendy Raquel Robinson, the Emmy® Award-winning producer and actress best known for her role as sports agent Tasha Mack on The Game, was chosen to host the landmark event, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Smith was able to speak with Sheryl Lee Ralph, who was excited to be one in the number. She said, “How wonderful it is for people to be born the way they are born and come into a space and time when people can love the people they love. All of the people – not just some of the people.”

“It’s an honor to be here.” Jean-Pierre followed up, “Representation matters and it is so important for young people to see us, to see what we represent.” The organization is dedicated to supporting the educational goals of young individuals in the Black LGBTQ+ community through its scholarship program. The program provides scholarships ranging from $1,000.00 to $5,000.00. At the Truth Awards ceremony, ten Truth Awards Scholars were granted scholarships. Since its inception, BBLA has awarded over $250,000 in tuition assistance to deserving students. “This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals within the Black LGBTQ+ community,” said Scott Hamilton, Co-Founder of BBLA.

Although all thirteen items didn’t happen in 2023, I set myself up for success and alignment in 2024. The best part is that this method kept me motivated as I conquered each achievement.

For 2024, I want to update my methods for this vision board. I found a perfect TikTok explaining how to break down your intentions, and by remixing my digital vision board and adding her methodology, I created the ultimate vision board.
